PopCap games are "uniquely mobile, uniquely social," says analyst Scott Steinberg. "People love to talk about them -- they love to share about it. PopCap's been having a lot of success on smartphones -- a lot of success on Facebook and other social networks. So I think what EA saw was another prospective addition to its online strategy that could help it bolster its position -- try and make greater inroads with the casual and mainstream audience."
