1637: They have cleared out Leigh Sports Village and I'll take that cue to make my exit as well. However there is more mulling over the result on the BBC Red Button or at the top of this page if you just can't get enough. Hopefully see you back here next week for the Wembley showdown Wales v New Zealand is at 1300 GMT followed by England v Australia at 1530 GMT. Bye for now.
England coach Steve McNamara: "It was a really tough game and the players dealt with it well. To come away with a comfortable win in the end was pleasing. Our big blokes charged us forward and we were building some momentum and the players are happy in the changing room. We were looking at some different combinations in the end, especially with bringing Gareth Widdop on. We have the bit between our teeth with Australia coming up next week and it's all about winning now."
Wales coach Iestyn Harris: "England are a very good side and we knew it would be difficult, but I'm really, really proud of my players. Mentally and physically they stood up in defence but when you give teams like theirs, with Sinfield and Tomkins, space and time then eventually you are going to crack."
1624: Attention turn south to Wembley, next Saturday 5 November and a double-header of north against south hemisphere sides. Have Wales got enough to upset the Kiwis or, perhaps a little more likely, do England have the weapons to give Australia pause for thought?
80 mins: Eng 42-4 Wal Wales are piling forward in search of a second try as the hooter sounds, but England's Gareth Ellis pilfers the interception and feeds Widdop who wins the race to the line to close out the game. Sinfield pops over the conversion with the last kick of the game.

FULL-TIME: ENGLAND 42-4 WALES
80 MINS: CONVERSION (SINFIELD) ENGLAND 42-4 WALES
80 MINS: TRY (WIDDOP) ENGLAND 40-4 WALES
79 min: Eng 36-4 Wal So close to another score for England as Rangi Chase is judged by the video official to have knocked on attempting to ground a loose ball .

77 min: Eng 36-4 Wal Simple stuff from England as they unlock the Wales defence from halfway. Chase flicks a pass behind the back of a dummy runner, Gareth Widdop strides through a gaping hole in the Wales backline before slowing and popping it back inside for Heighington to saunter over. Sinfield piles on another two.
76 MINS: CONVERSION (SINFIELD) ENGLAND 36-4 WALES
75 MINS: TRY (HEIGHINGTON) ENGLAND 34-4 WALES
73 min: Eng 30-4 Wal A touch from the outside of Sinfield's boot puts the ball into the corner, but Kirk Yeaman would need a jet pack to get to it before it dribbles over the whitewash.
69 min: Eng 30-4 Wal More pressure from England, but the Welsh defence is resolute.

65 min: Eng 30-4 Wal A lovely score from Wales, showing more cutting edge than they have yet in the match. A pair of dummy runners thunders through to create space on the outside as Briers and then Aled James send the winging out to Bradford's Elliot Kear to dive in. Briers is off target with a conversion attempt that dies well short.
64 MINS: TRY (KEAR) ENGLAND 30-4 WALES
Robbie Hunter-Paul on BBC One: "I'm really impressed with the England front row, the one place I would be critical is in their defence."
Try graphic
60 min: Eng 30-0 Wal The Welsh defence is tiring and they won't thank Briers for piling irresistable pressure on them there. The Warrington man fluffs a drop-out from under his own posts and England immediately capitalise as Sinfield feeds Tomkins to go over after James Graham opts to pop rather than burrow for the line himself. Sinfield pops over the conversion.
60 MINS: CONVERSION (SINFIELD) ENGLAND 30-0 WALES
60 MINS: TRY (TOMKINS) ENGLAND 28-0 WALES
Try graphic
56 min: Eng 24-0 Wal England's attack rolls ominously downfield and a wave of runners fixes the Wales defence as Ben Westwood heads off on a looping run. Reed hits his colleague's shoulder ball flat and fast and a trio of red shirts can't keep him out.
55 MINS: TRY (REED) ENGLAND 24-0 WALES
Try graphic
53 min: Eng 20-0 Wal That's the hat-trick for Tomkins. James Graham pops the ball to Gareth Ellis around halfway. The Wests Tigers man's angled run takes him through some flaky tackling from Roets and Tomkins is in support to scamper over under the sticks. The conversion is as simple as they come from Sinfield.
